Once you get to Battle Creek, then the only way up to Timpanooke Road is a huge climb. One I have yet to do. But this is the mountains, and sometimes the only way to get from here to there is to go up. Straight up.
Right now V.1 of the route is done. I think on the map it looks pretty good. Incredibly difficult, but doable. There are a few spots I need to scout before I finalize them, but the general direction and locations of each section are not going to change too much I don't think.
Thoughts, comments?

As a UC native I have ridden all the trails/roads on the route and like what I see.
When you get to battlecreek another option is to ride down and across to grove creek, this adds a little vertical but groove creek is a much nicer climb to the timpanooke road.
I the 2nd half of the route you have alot of fire road riding where you could inlcude some amazing single track. Let me know if you want to discuss some other options.
good work!

Yeah, that second half is some unknown territory for me. Other than Camel Pass/Squaw Peak road, that area is terra incognita.
I'd love to hear some other options :)
I also considered the Grove climb. I think you are right that it is a bit more established. Something to consider...
Thanks for the input.
Living less than a block from you, Adam, I've done my share of exploring the front of Timp and the route I would choose would be:
Jump onto the GWT at Nun's Park in Provo Canyon and ride up to the dirt road then take it a short ways west then back on and up the GWT to the "Altar" (pile of rocks) 4-way intersection and go west on trail 051 (Curly Springs?) and cross Dry Canyon (above the gray cliff narrows) then traverse the front of Big Baldy and drop into the top of Battle Creek Canyon to hook up with the Timp Perimeter trail.
It can be hard to find some of these trails the first time. I have some GPS tracks and waypoints I can give you, or we can go out and ride it.
You could go up and over the saddle of Big Baldy, but that's a lot of hike-a-bike whereas my route is almost all rideable.

Thoughts = there will be some hike-a-bike :-)
Comments = Wow, I love it!
